How To Make Welcome Candy Bag

Welcome Candy Bag

Guests gladly come from far and wide to celebrate the marriage of two people they love. These welcoming candy bags are a sweet and simple gesture to let your guests know you’re happy they made the trip.

They’re easy to make, so you can whip them up in no time for any gathering from the rehearsal dinner to the farewell brunch.

Choose papers, ribbons, and embellishments that tie in to your theme or special style. Fill them to the brim with your favorite treats for everyone to enjoy.

Here are the materials you will need to make one candy bag:

• one cellophane candy bag, approximately 10" x 4 3/41" (25.5 x 12 cm)
• one piece of patterned paper, 4 3/4" x12”(12x30.5cm)
• length of 3/8” (1 cm)-wide ribbon
• one paper tag, 1” x 3” (2.5 x 7.5 cm)
• small wrapped candies, various selections of your choice

STEP 1. Make a fold 2 1/2” (6.5 cm) from the bottom of the patterned paper. Slide the paper into the cellophane bag. The fold will create a flat bottom for the bag.
STEP 2. Fill the bag with the desired amount of a selection of wrapped candies.
STEP 3. Trim the top of the cellophane bag to the same height as the top of the patterned paper. Fold both over 1” (2.5 cm).
STEP 4. Secure the bag by tying the ribbon around the width of the bag to enclose the fold.

STEP 5. Write the word “Welcome” on your tag with a colored pen or pencil.
STEP 6. Feed the welcome tag through one end of the ribbon and secure with a small bow.

Reminders
Instead of tying the bag with a ribbon, simply close the bag at the back with a small piece of transparent tape.
