Flower Girl Ballet Slippers

Flower Girl Ballet Slippers

With just a few buds and bows, you can easily turn ballet flats into adorable footwear for your flower girls. These adorable shoes are a one of a kind accessory that will complement the color of the girls' dresses and the flowers in the bouquets they carry, too.

Simply choose store bought shoes in your color of choice, then glue on the small clusters of faux roses and velvet ribbons, You can find faux rosebuds and velvet ribbon ¡n every sweet color you can imagine!

Here are the materials you will need to make one pair of ballet slippers:

• pair of ballet flats
•1 yd. (1 m) of 3/8" (1 cm) wide velvet ribbon
• one stem of roses
• needle and thread
• hot glue gun and glue sticks

STEP 1. Cut the velvet ribbon in half. Fold one end over twice to form small looped petals.
STEP 2. Remove the rosebuds from the stem. Hand stitch several onto the ribbon to create a small cluster.
STEP 3. After sewing on the buds, fold the other end of the ribbon to form two more petals.

STEP 4. Hot glue the rosebud cluster to the top of the ballet slipper, positioning it at center. Clip the ribbon ends to length if necessary. Set the slipper aside to allow the glue to dry thoroughly.
STEP 5. Repeat the steps to make a matching rosebud cluster for the other ballet slipper.
