Fall Leaf Cylinder Candles

Fall Leaf Cylinder Candles
What a very glamorous style! autumn is rich with colors and textures. Fortunately for brides planning fall weddings, these natural elements create an instant, dramatic backdrop. Accessorize with seasonal designs of your own.

These cylinder candles have the look of a first frost, warmed by the soft colors of falling faux leaves. A light coat of spray paint adds the frosty finish. Set these candles on a welcome table, bar, or buffet table. Line a pathway, brighten the reception hall, or create a tablescape by grouping them with scattered faux berries and leaves.

Here are the materials you will need to make one fall leaf cylinder candle:

• one bunch of faux fall leaves
• iron
• one glass cylinder vase
• 8" (20.5 cm) pillar candle
• ivory or white spray paint
• spray adhesive

STEP 1. Set the iron to a medium hot setting. Press the leaves so they're completely flat. If the leaves are still bumpy, wet them slightly and press again with the iron on a high setting. Let the leaves dry thoroughly.
STEP 2. Turn the leaves so they are underside up. Spray the undersides liberally with the spray adhesive to coat well, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
STEP 3. Press the leaves firmly onto the surface of the cylinder vase. Arrange the leaves around the cylinder to create a pleasing pattern. As you work, hold each leaf in place until it is affixed securely.

STEP 4. Working in a well ventilated area, spray the leaf covered cylinder with a light coating of the spray paint. Lightly coat the leaves, too, for a frosty effect. Let the paint dry thoroughly.
