Butterfly Napkin Rings and Votives

Butterfly Napkin Rings and Votives

Nice and impressive Is a lovely time for a wedding. Flowers are starting to bloom, and all of nature is coming back to life after a long winter. Capture the fresh feeling of the season with these butterfly votives and napkin rings.

They are easy to make and coordinate beautifully with most floral designs. You'll find everything you need at craft or floral supply shops. When the wedding day is over, let these butterflies fly away with your guests as special keepsakes.

Here are the materials you will need to make one napkin ring and one votive:

• one small glass votive, 2 3/4" (7 cm) tall by 2" (5 cm) wide
• one votive candle, in color of choice
• one twig ring, 3 1/2” (9 cm) in diameter
• six to eight paper butterflies with wire stems, ranging in size from 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" (4 to 6.5 cm) wide
• brown paper-wrapped wire, 6" (15 cm) in length
• hot glue gun and glue sticks

STEP 1. Place the glass votive ¡nside the twig ring. The ring should fit snugly around the bottom of the votive.
STEP 2. Remove the stems from four butterflies of assorted colors. Hot glue the butterflies to the twig ring.
STEP 3. Next, make the napkin holder. Attach two of the butterflies, one large and one small, to the center of the paper wrapped wire by wrapping their stems around the wire tightly.

STEP 4. Bend the paper wrapped wire to form a tight letter C. If necessary, squeeze the wire a bit tighter after you've wrapped it around the folded napkin for a more secure fit.

Bend the paper wrapped wire around the glass votive to make sure each napkin ring is the same size and shape.
